It is a time that makes you feel alive, you full of plenitude, these are small things in you that generate prosperity and a sense of brotherhood.

Among my favorite things at Christmas are: bread ham, black cake, chicken salad, the carols and songs typical of the season, hallacas prepared by me, I do not like the others so much.

Mis canciones favoritas por estas fechas son:

"O Holy Night" ("Cantique de Noël") is a well-known Christmas carol composed by Adolphe Adams in 1847 to the french poem "Minuit, chrétiens" by Placide Cappeau (1808-1877), a wine merchant and poet. Cappeau was asked to write a Christmas poem by a parish priest. It has become a standard modern carol for solo performance with an operatic finish.

Original version:

Oh holy night! The stars are brightly shining,
It is the night of our dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error pining,
'Til He appear'd and the soul felt its worth.
A thrill of hope the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angels' voices!
Oh night divine, Oh night when Christ was born;
Oh night divine, Oh night, Oh night Divine.
Led by the light of Faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts by His cradle we stand.
So led by light of a star sweetly gleaming,
Here come the wise men from Orient land.
The King of Kings lay thus in lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our friend.
He knows our need, to our weakness is no stranger,
Behold your King! Before Him lowly bend!
Behold your King, Behold your King.
Truly He taught us to love one another;
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Chains shall He break for the slave is our brother;
And in His name all oppression shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
Let all within us praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! O praise His Name forever,
His power and glory evermore proclaim.
His power and glory evermore proclaim.
Second version:

O! Holy night! The stars, their gleams prolonging,
Watch o'er the Eve of our dear Saviour's birth.
Long lay the world in sin and error, longing
For His appearance, then the Spirit felt its worth.
A thrill of hope; the weary world rejoices,
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn.
Fall on your knees! Oh, hear the angel voices!
O night divine, the night when Christ was Born;
O night, O holy night, O night divine!
Led by the light of faith serenely beaming,
With glowing hearts we stand by the Babe adored.
O'er the world a star is sweetly gleaming,
And come now, Shepherds, from your flocks unboard.
The Son of God lay thus w'thin lowly manger;
In all our trials born to be our Lord.
He knows our need, our weakness never lasting,
Behold your King! By Him, let Earth accord!
Behold your King! By Him, let Earth accord!
Truly He taught us to love one another,
His law is love and His gospel is peace.
Long live His truth, and may it last forever,
For in His name all discordant noise shall cease.
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we,
With all our hearts we praise His holy name.
Christ is the Lord! Then ever, ever praise we,
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
His power and glory ever more proclaim!
Celine version:

O Holy night, the stars
are brightly shining

It is the night of our dear Savior's birth
Long lay the world in sin and error pining

Til He appeared and the
soul felt it's worth

A thrill of hope the weary world rejoyces
For yonder breaks a new and glorious morn

Fall on your knees
O hear the angel voices
O night divine!

O night when Christ was born

O night divine!

O night, O night divine!

And in His Name, all oppression shall cease
Sweet hymns of joy in grateful chorus raise we
Let all within us praise his holy name

Christ is the Lord!
Their name forever praise we

Otra de las canciones que suelo entonar en navidad:

Niño Lindo
Ante Tí me rindo,
Niño Lindo,
eres Tú mi Dios. (bis)
Esa tu hermosura;
Ese tu candor,
el alma me roba,
el alma me roba,
me roba el amor.
Niño Lindo...
Con tus ojos lindos,
Jesús mírame,
y sólo con eso
y s'olo con eso
me consolaré.
Niño Lindo...
La vida, bien mío,
y el alma también,
te ofrezco, gustoso,
te ofrezco, gustoso,
rendido a tus pies.
Niño Lindo...
De mí no te ausentes
pues, sin tí qué haré?
Cuando tú te vayas
Cuando tú te vayas
haz por llevarme.
Niño Lindo...
Adiós, tierno Infante,
adiós, Niño, adiós
adiós, dulce amante,
adiós, dulce amante,
adiós Niño adiós.
Niño Lindo...

Aguinaldo Venezolano:

Si la Virgen fuera Andina
y San José de los llanos
El Niño Jesús sería
Un Niño venezolano (bis)

Sería un niño de alpargatas
y liquiliqui planchao
un sombrero de cogoyo
y el calzón arremangao.

Tendría los ojos negritos
quien sabe si aguarapaos
y la cara tostadita
del sol de por estos lados

Por cuna tendr'ia un chinchorro
chiquito y muy bien tejido
y la Virgen mecer'ia
al Niño Jesús dormido.
